How long had he been out? The last thing he remembered, the three he'd been eating with had left, and then there'd been a loud boom... Opening his eyes, Red Goblin first noticed that his mask, and indeed, the rest of his costume seemed to be in tatters... What was worse, he seemed to be buried under some destroyed building...
Regaining his strength, Red burst forth from the rubble, scattering it in various places. Looking around, he quickly realized it was the remains of the Tandoori Village, his favorite Indian restaurant... Someone had left a bomb for him, killed some of his closest friends, and left him for dead... Was a shame the bastards hadn't known about his unique healing factor...
Of course, now he knew he didn't need to worry about his methods anymore... Maybe seeing the people he cared about die continuously worked for other heroes, but Red wouldn't have anything to do with that... These had been good people, there was no reason they needed to die...
Taking a moment to adjust to his surroundings, Red was calmed to know it was dark out, and no one was around... He didn't mind people seeing him without the mask, he took it off without a second thought more often than not... Only reason he kept it was so he could leave the country by ferry as Tommy Smith whenever he felt like a vacation from being Red.
Tonight, though, wasn't a night for vacationing. Concentrating, Red felt his Glider, also conveniently buried in the rubble... Whoever wanted him dead, had been terrible at finishing the job they started... Pulling it out of the wreckage, he saw that, for the most part, it was still in working order. Hopping into the air as it flew to meet his feet, Red took off into the night, off to put his Glider back in working order... "Hahahahahahahahahahaha! Red's back, boys and girls... And, since you had to wait so long, I'll make sure and put on a good show, when I find you..." He cackled, not caring if the gang heard him or not, just glad to hear his own voice, once again...

Alias: Red Goblin
Alignment: Hero
Age: 20

Special Abilities
- Super Genius: Even before ingesting the Goblin Formula III, Tommy was at a genius level IQ. Since becoming Red Goblin, he has managed to be able to build advanced space ship, improve upon weapons originally designed by Norman Osborn, and has proven to be a capable strategist, despite his general unpredictability.
- Bag of Tricks: Like any other Goblin, Red carries with him a bag full of useful little devices... From various pumpkin bombs (explosive, napalm, coolant, energy, sticky, knock out gas, tear gas, flashbang, various others), razor bats, 'ghosts'(gas emitting, floating devices), and various other goodies.
- Custom Goblin Suit: Being the kind of guy who likes to ensure that the people hitting him stop, permanently, Red has adapted his rendition of the Goblin suit. Outside of changing the colors, he has sheathed adamantium bladed, four of them, in the suit... One above each wrist, and one in the sole of each boot... At a thought, he can unsheathe the blades, and spring into physical combat. Outside of that, he's added flamethrowers below each wrist, squeezing the right pump will activate a long stream of fire, coming from his wrist. Outside of this, Red's costume is flame retardant, as well as weather resistant, allowing him to be relatively comfortable in any environment. Along with this, the suit is resistant to most direct energy attacks, and the chest piece alone is bulletproof. After an incident with his Glider's gas tank, he now has a built in gas mask, in case of other such incidents, allowing him to breathe in normally toxic or negative gases with ease.
- Super Strength: The particular formula that Red consumed granted him the ability to lift up to twenty tons without straining himself, making him far stronger and much more dangerous than he appears. After discovering his strength, he took the habit of joining confrontations, or even friendly meetings, by leaping from his Glider, no matter how high in the air he may be, causing a crater where he lands, and laughing maniacally as he crawls out to introduce his presence.
- Advanced Healing: Again due to the Goblin Formula III, his healing ability is, at least, on par with Harry or Norman's. Generally, scratches or shallow cuts will disappear rapidly, deep cuts or bullet wounds within ten to twenty minutes, and normally fatal wounds can heal in any time between a few hours, or a few days.
- Goblin Glider: Taking the old glider he'd found in the abandoned safe house, Red spent a good amount of time redesigning it... In his work, he was able to create an engine that acted as a self-perpetuating machine, never needing to be refueled to continue, the top speeds of the machine are unknown, though it generally travels at a rate of about 90mph... Along with this, he kept the original machine guns, rocket launcher, and hidden blades, while adding to it a tank full of a hallucinogenic gas which he himself devised. The gas, as he discovered first hand after Solid Snake mistook him as an enemy and doused them both in it, causes hallucinations of whatever one fears or hates the most... It also holds the capability of releasing napalm from a hidden compartment onto the heads of opponents, or wherever he feels like starting a forest fire... Using the technology to it's full extent, Red was able to create a link between his Glider and his mind, allowing him to command it as easily as he would any other part of his body, no matter how far away it may be...
Weaknesses
- Magic: Red's foremost weakness is magic, or anything similar, including Force Attacks and Biotics... While it isn't likely to take him out, not for long, anyways, he has absolutely no defenses against attacks like that.
- Mental Instability: While Red is a hero through and through, his insanity is undeniable. While he'd never directly attack a civilian, he often dwells on his hatred of corruption, and, eternally dwells on his hatred of Norman Osborn. In the past, this has been used to turn him against his own morality, without his knowing... Such as the brief period he spent working under Damion Von Hector, believing the evil ambassador to be a good man.
- Glider: Though not necessarily a weakness, Red has noticed that people, when fighting him, have a tendency of taking out his glider, instead of him, making him slightly irritable, and his transportation less easy until he can get around to fixing it.
Brief History [Spoilers][/size]
The child of extremely wealthy parents, Tommy Smith was raised in Phoenix, Arizona for his formative years. During his childhood, he grew to loath not his parents, but the lifestyles they chose to live... As much as he cared for them, they never seemed to have the time to dedicate to him... Or to the people who they could have helped...
In school, he was always seen as something of a bleeding heart, giving speeches to his class about the need to help the defenseless, to protect those who can't protect themselves, and to stop putting the acquisition of money and power before others... Where he saw himself as a visionary, others saw him as insane, attempting to shatter the status quo, the way he was... However, having been born with a genius IQ, Tommy never felt he was in the wrong, and was quite popular amongst his teachers, for his work ethic, if nothing else... This only added to his unpopularity in class.
Around the age of sixteen, Tommy's family sent him to New York to spend a summer away, hoping that after seeing the squalor people there lived in, he'd come to appreciate everything they'd provided him over the years. However, upon arriving in the city, the young man took off straight for the slums of the city, helping everyone he could, while asking nothing in return. During one such excursion into the depths of the city's scum, he came across an old hideout of Harry Osborn's, one that had been in use during his time as the second Green Goblin... Finding diaries of both Harry's and Norman's, Tommy was able to piece together the minds behind the famous mask of the Green Goblin...
Thinking back on all the harm he'd heard of being caused by both the Green Goblin's and the Hobgoblin's, Tommy decided that, as long as he was in New York, he should do something about it... Finding unfinished notes as to the formula for the second generation formula Harry had created, Tommy went to work, believing that he himself had perfected it... Injecting himself with his own Goblin Formal III, he began to laugh as the formula coursed through his veins.
That night, in his own eyes, Thomas 'Tommy' James Smith died, replaced by Red Goblin, the superman that he always knew he was, finally given a chance for release... Taking some of the old Green Goblin gear, including a few costumes, Red went to work, recoloring the clothes into a red/grey color scheme, adding blades above the wrists and in each boot, and attaching fire spraying nozzles beneath his wrists, preparing for anything...
Taking to the sky on a modified Goblin Glider later that same night, Red Goblin introduced his visage to the world... Becoming the hero he'd always imagined he was meant to be... However, no matter what he did, he was never able to shake the feeling that Norman Osborn was watching him, waiting to make a move... Despite facing other opponents numerous times, the only men Red truly came to loath beyond reason were the other, evil Goblins... With Norman at the top of his list...
Over the course of a few months, he began to make a name for himself. Though constantly mistaken as Osborn, whom he sees as his nemesis, Red more often than not proved he wasn't so bad, not at all... During this time, he became friends with a few individuals, traveling to Genosha for a vacation with one, and becoming friends with another after a few initial meetings as enemies... After meeting Spider-Man, Red began to question his own actions, wondering if murdering was truly heroic... After an evening spent at his favorite restaurant with a few friends, two of whom he'd just met, he continued wondering about his own morality...
After the others left the restaurant, a bomb left by an angry gang he'd previously helped take down went off, destroying the restaurant, killing everyone still inside, including the waitress, chef, and owner, all of whom were close friends of his, and leaving him in a coma for quite some time.
Waking up several weeks later, Red finally found the answer he'd been seeking... Left in the rubble of the Tandoori Village he'd so loved, he realized he'd been taking the most reasonable course of action... The only way to stop killers from killing, was to kill them himself...

Hello! My name is The Tommy and I have been a member on The Grey Divide since December '09. The other characters that I role-play are: Cain Marko, Pinhead, Ash Williams, Wilson Fisk, Zell Dincht(being dropped). I hope you remember me!!!
So... Since I mostly only took Zell up to have a video game character, and don't feel I could really do exceptionally well with him... I decided to, instead, bring back my first, and most popular, OC... Red Goblin, everyone's favorite laughing maniac who acts as a hero by any means he deems necessary... And, a Goblin who hates every other Goblin, on a very personal level...
