Ezequiel Lobato Viera, taking the subway that day, was tapping out a faint beat. Nobody really paid much attention, but he didn't quite mind. He had a song stuck in his head, and he needed to just tap out the beat. Nothing too serious, nothing too heart-wrenching or blood-flowing. He leaned back a bit, looking out of the window a bit. Still as non-scenic as ever. The subway system was so boring, it needed a paint job or something.
The lights began to flicker and the monotone voice of the conductor came on, surprisingly emotional, scared out of his mind. Most people were shouting, screaming, holding onto their children. But Ezequiel didn't have people right now. What he did have was an obligation, a moral duty, a calling. A highway in which he'd ride as long as he could, at least until he got off at a good exit.
Looking around, he made sure nobody was watching. Of course, hysteria was gripping them, and most of them were running themselves, trying to get to the back. He grinned, letting most of them pass before himself exiting the subway, but through a window. Looking around to make sure nobody would notice, he cut the window out with his nail and leaped out of it, hanging on. His eyes were closed against the wind, but he still managed to flip himself up and stick his nails into the roof, making sure he would stay secure. It took almost too much effort, but he pulled himself- slowly, painfully- to the front. He saw their little roadblock. And it was getting bigger, bigger, closer. Some guy who apparently thinks he can stop a train. Another anonymous mutant? He didn't know of this guy. But he was much too confident.
Ezequiel had the velocity of the train on his side. That, combined with the velocity he got from kicking off of the train, was enough to knock the guy on his back. His nails dug into the other man's shoulders, causing him to scream in anguish. And he just got finished scraping little flecks of blood from them from the last idiot who decided to stir up trouble! He managed to land on his back, taking the other one down with him on his back as well, the subway going right over them both. When it was finally out of sight, Ezequiel turned to the man, who was standing up. In pain, of course.
“Amigo, you made me miss my train," he remarked coolly, flicking some of his blood off of his nails. The more he got off now, the better. And he didn't want bloodstained clothes. A grin, baring his fangs, and Ezequiel was off. Jumping from wall to wall around the man, causing the man to swing blindly in the air. Every once in a while, Zeke would stick his hand out, cutting the man across his back or chest, depending on the side he struck from. Eventually, he got his cheek and the man started to stumble away. This was when he jumped towards the guy, sticking him in the backs of his knees, then slashing his Achilles tendons. He had seen that in a movie, and man did that work. He went down like a brick.
“I apologize, but if you hadn't had tried to stop the train, then we wouldn't have a problem and your ankles would still be... Intact," he said, grinning once more and wiping his ‘claws' off on the other's clothes.
“The police should be here in no time, don't worry. You'll live, amigo. Just don't pull anything like this again."

(BTW, dropping Yoshimitsu because he's just going nowhere and I can't for the life of me figure out any way to involve him in any plot. He's really only had a handful of posts, so maybe I'm being a tad rash about this, but my muse for him is dying painfully on top of the plot thing and... Yeah. And plus, I've been wanting to bring in this guy for a while. Dx)

Special Abilities
Ezequiel can jump. High. And far. His agility is amazing, being able to jump off of walls to quickly scale high buildings, just as long as there is another one adjacent to it. He's resistant to pressure, only enough to be able survive a fall that normal humans could not. Also, to top it all off, his fingernails are rather long, razor sharp and close to indestructible.
While not a part of his mutant power, he is very athletic and could run marathons if he was motivated enough. The headaches that he suffers (explained in more detail in weaknesses, as they're really more of a weakness but have some upsides) give him more adrenaline and a better sense of smell, being able to ‘smell' one's location.

Weaknesses
His pressure resistance only works in his lower body. So, if he lands on his back, that would still hurt like crazy. If he jumps, he can't change course in midair. So, if he tries to be sneaky and the other person simply holds up a sword in his direction, his only hope is to try to wiggle out of the way of the sword. Of course, any weapon could be substituted in that situation. His fingernails aren't that long. Any other weapon has a longer reach (besides brass knuckles), making him have to get very close to his opponent to do any kind of damage. He has absolutely no way of attacking from afar.
He is also prone to occasional headaches which, for a time varying from five minutes to hours, causes extreme pain in his head, makes him temporarily deaf and blind, and causes him to lose control of his personality completely. In this state, he is extremely hostile and aggressive, but retains information on his closest friends. He will not attack those friends and may even attempt broken communication, but anything less than one who he trusts with his life may be attacked. His personality switch is preceded by violent pain his Zeke's head, accompanied by screaming. He's deaf when the headache starts, so his screams are at the top of his lungs when he doesn't think he's being all that loud.
This may not be considered a weakness to most, but to him it is: when he's in love or very happy in the company of a friend, he purrs subconsciously. He can't stop it from happening, and it's audible.

Brief History[/size]
Ezequiel Lobato Viera had a relatively normal life, growing up in his native Portugal for ten long years before moving to the United States, namely New York. This explains his accent, and his occasional use of Portuguese. His parents were relatively wealthy and had business connections in the United States, making it rather easy for them all to become citizens. His aunt, Isabella, had already moved to New York before they did, and there was where Ezequiel spent most of his time. He and his sister would visit their aunt rather frequently, as their parents were rather busy most of the time and his aunt amassed a rather sizable wealth and retired in luxurious stability.
There the siblings, Zeke and Camila, learned about mutants. About everything that happened in the world. About how they were both probably mutants, as their parents both were. At their young age, they didn't quite understand, but Zeke made it seem like he did. Camila, four years younger than Ezequiel, was always asking her big brother what a mutant was. When Zeke finally came of age, he moved out, floating from job to job. He was ultimately dissatisfied with his life, longing for something more.
The second largest day in his life came rather quickly, Camila's high school graduation. His parents were busy, so only Ezequiel and Auntie Isa came to watch. Camila was used to it at that point, so it was fine. But as they were all walking back home late that night after a graduation present, a concert, a car had appeared to slam right into their aunt, prompting both of their powers to manifest. Ezequiel ended up fainting after feeling extremely light headed, feeling as if his fingertips were on fire and feeling like his knees were going to buckle at any second. Camila held her hands in front of her and shot a stream of heavily compressed air, catching the end of the car and sending it spinning away from them.
They never truly understood why, but Isabella had planned the whole thing. She knew Ezequiel wanted something more in life, and she knew that Camila needed direction. This would give them both, or so she hoped. Isabella's power of manipulating manmade material helped her ‘grasp' her clothes and pull herself out of the way of the car, driven by one of her closest friends. But once she explained, they accepted. The siblings knew that Auntie Isa was a bit out there, but faking her own death? If confused them, but it was one of those things that they wouldn't ever understand, so they didn't ask questions.
That was where they parted ways from each other. Or, at least, when Ezequiel had a long talk with his aunt and sister, and they agreed that he would leave and go about his own business just as long as he promised to write. Camila and Isabella would stay in Auntie I’s house, safe and secure, while Ezequiel would search for his meaning in life.

Hello! My name is Nick (or Alastair to avoid confusion xP) and I have been a member on The Grey Divide since ...A while? I dunno. Not TOO too long, but... Most people know of me >>. The other characters that I role-play are: Alastair and Yoshimitsu (who I’m dropping for Zeke). I hope you will love me!!!
Dx)
