A sword stabbed down hard into the cracked earth, kicking up dust.
Then in faded into nothingness, and all was silent.
The darkness of night had fallen upon this barren world, and the way the wasteland seemed both deserted and seemed to stretch on forever brought back familiar memories to the lone man who had called back his weapon out of the dirt, acting as a direction marker through the endless expanse. Black boots trampled on the fragmented mesa that had been absent of water for the longest of times, until they came to a stop before another metal object.
But this time, it was not his own.
Grey trousers and a gray overcoat led up to the face of the traveler, with ebony black hair and dark blue eyes, looking at the discarded weapon that lay beyond beyond his sight. But it was not the only one, as his vision extended outward, encompassing the sight of many others like it, and his focus came back to the singular one. A rounded hand-guard, a blade ending in notches... it looked like a giant key. It looked ridiculous, like it was from a children fairytale.
And yet... the way there were hundreds of them lying here, spread out like tombstones, was not far from eerie.
Noctis turned, and walked down the row through them, discarding their image from his sight for now. Whatever it was, it had nothing to do with him, another monument to something forgotten not from his world. It was pointless to dwell on fiction and mythology, which had nothing to do with fact and what was happening now... he had to find his friends. His thoughts were of them, and how he had not seen them in so long. He was done with wandering, done with endlessly fighting for the sheer thrill of it... he was not just some tool for endless war. He wanted to peace to settle on his world, and he wasn't sure now if the answers lay beyond the stars, but things were not going to be resolved back at home any time soon.
Something had to give.
He looked up at the night sky, wondering if he could see the same night sky from his home world, just like he had on that same fateful night he had met Stella. He discarded her fancies that the myth behind the Goddess Etro was just a tale told to scare children, but... he had doubts the legend was true, if something as unbelievable and potentially frightening as a graveyard full of giant key weapons existed. In some ways, he was like them - crafted for war, not aware of it's inevitable fate at the hands of death.
Would his weapons mark his grave, as well?
"I'm not ready... to die, just yet." he reflected in contemplation, his eyes mirroring the inky blue of the night sky.
There was still so much to see and do, a lifetime of things to experience... things that were not so horrible as the fate that could await him. Still some good things left to have, in this world. Belief in the story meant he believed he was going to die, and he had no other choice... so he chose not to accept it, even if it was the truth.
If it was his cruel destiny to die... then he would fight against destiny.
Twilight crested the horizon before him, signaling it was almost dawn. He had been traveling for so long, but... remembering back to the light from the dead, he was glad now.
He was glad this was the only light he could see... for now.

Special Abilities
Telekinesis: With little effort, Noctis can summon his weapons out of thin air with magical power, and materialize them anywhere in the free space of the battlefield. They hover within the air and are almost transparent if one doesn't look hard enough, and he can't materialize them into people or objects, so he needs to grab them out of the air and throw them in order to move them around to make offensive use of them in combat for the most part. He can also use his telekinesis to rotate them in the air, both to set a almost invisible trap in a switchblade-motion, or to orbit around his body in his defensive 'Coat of Arms' technique. He can summon one weapon at once, which he always chooses his main weapon, the Falchion as his weapon of choice along with any additional weapons. Even then, he may only use a few at a time, leaving others as back-up for projectiles or to act as a defense. (He can only summon as many weapons as there are opponents in the thread.)
Coat of Arms: The 'defensive' maneuver he uses with his Telekinesis, he can arrange them to became a 'wall' in front of him, which will reflect gunfire back at the user and block most ranged attacks and spells, including even explosions. Only other weapons can damage the weapons, which he will rather not do if he can help it, so he won't use this in melee combat. (Use for one post, cooldown during the next post, before he can use it again.)
Teleportation: Used in conjunction with his Telekinesis, he can teleport to any weapon on the field he has moved with his telekinesis, and use that weapon swiftly. He can then teleport again once having used that weapon or the power of that weapon, and only after someone has interrupted him can he teleport again. (Can teleport to up to two weapons per post/turn, or in other words three weapons per post/turn, at the cost of a cooldown for two turns.)
Limit Break - Master of Weapons: When he sustains enough damage or collects enough energy as he collides with opponents in battle, Noctis can enter his 'limit break' form, which his hair and eyes changes color. The ability to wield all his weapons at once he can use in this form, while the form is available for a limited time. With this altered appearance in combat, to wield them in his final attack, he unleashes them on a single or multiple opponents with using one of his ten weapons at a time with a total of ten strikes, the last strike with his Falchion coming down in a impaling strike being the most powerful and hardest to dodge (much like how he impaled a solider in the trailer, or Sephiroth's Prison Gate attack used to impale Aerith, although the opponent gets to decide the angle of which the strike hits them). Because of the force behind this attack, it cannot be blocked, and upon using it he returns back to his normal black-haired, blue-eyed self and using only as many weapons as there are opponents. (This is much like the Knights of the Round summon, or Cloud's Omnislash Version Five attack as a visual reference. Cooldown: He must wait for three posts/turns and then have three successful attacks/abilities/powers damaging him before he can use this limit break again.)

Brief History [Spoilers][/size]
Noctis was born in privilege as the only heir to a royal family, protected and served upon from a young age by his mother and any servants that served his family. His father was too busy to attend to him, serving as head of their meetings. Because Noctis never had much contact with anyone, even with his father and associates meeting all visitors to the castle, his personality developed over time into that of a shy one. As soon as he was old enough, as a teenager, his family saw fit to start training him in all different kinds of defensive techniques as well as handling all known different kinds of weapons.
When his rigorous basic training was finally complete, as a way of being inducted into serving the family as a warrior under their kingdom along with their royal hierarchy, he was exposed to the sight of the very crystal he was sworn under oath to protect. The crystal was what gave their kingdom the power to still be able to wield magic and swords, over more recent technology their neighboring kingdoms had been forced into using at the loss of their crystals, such as firearms and bombs. The ability Noctis gained from the crystal was unlike anything anyone had seen, and it seemed everyone including Noctis was equally as surprised. Over time and after a near-death experience, starting to witness a strange light left behind after people had died from his family's protection of the crystal and their shady business dealings, he found he could use telepathy to wield the weapon that the deceased had left behind. Which eventually accumulated into him able to wield several different weapons at once from the very air itself, and also use the crystal's power to teleport between these weapons. But these abilities didn't encourage him... they frightened him, knowing the mysterious source of the dead, from which they came. But he never talked to anyone about it, accepting the light for what it was without any other explanation, and tried to move on with his life.
Noctis and his family's kingdom were deadlocked in a cold war with neighboring kingdoms, who had lost their crystals and spited their kingdom for being the last to hold one, and so training to fight in a impending war was mandatory. The crystal was also a power source for their rapidly increasing technology and therefore modernization, and because of this their kingdom was cut off and isolated from the rest of the world. There were concerns and outcries about what the best use of the crystal could be from the other nations, but Noctis's family held onto the crystal to themselves as self-appointed guardians, knowing the other countries had lost theirs due to warfare and violent conflict. Noctis felt increasingly stressed out from the expectation he had to defend his family's crystal as well as the threat of other kingdoms invading his country, for although he knew they were currently in negotiations to sign a peace treaty, his intuition told him that something bad would happen to eventually prevent it. These thoughts constantly plagued him as he traveled the ravaged countryside to each of the kingdoms, as a ambassador of peace to seek reason and resolution, in a convoy of black cars for his protection.
Eventually he made friends with some of the people he made contact with in his kingdom and outside during these trips, which included three other males his age, that over time he formed a brotherhood with and shaped the 'cool' part of his personality to cover his shyness. These individuals included a fugitive blond man with a shotgun, even though firearms were banned from his kingdom, nicknamed 'Shotgun'; his personal driver who drove him throughout the highways of the abandoned city, nicknamed 'Driver'; and the eldest in the group who had a scar on his face nicknamed 'Scar-face'. Appearing to be one of the younger ones, Noctis also had a little-brother relationship with these friends, especially 'Scar-face' who took a role as a senior to the group. They faced many ordeals together driving around together in Noctis's car, when Noctis was not attending to royal affairs or stuck in meetings, and gave him a release of freedom from his burdened duties being under his family's hierarchy. Because he was only ever seen with his three friends outside of the castle, he usually trusted any matters with them over anything he could not discuss with his family in their tense meetings, often leaving the castle discretely travel to distant locations and visit neighboring kingdoms and landmarks.
Most of the city in Noctis's kingdom was now deserted and run-down due to the cold war and other factors, and to gather what's left of the other nations for the peace treaty and bring back the populace, a function was held within the local gallery in which Noctis attended. Being true to his shy and secluded nature, straying from the crowd, he wandered off until he came upon a young woman alone observing a painting. She politely and formally introduced herself, gradually upon Noctis's prompting, as Stella Nox Fluret. Hinting she already knew him as 'Lord Noctis' and being flirtatious about it, she went on to tell him the legend of the Goddess Etro, according to his kingdom and hers of Tenebrae, as he shyly walked off to avoid her gaze. The myth explained that the Goddess Etro appeared before the dying, and opened a gate to the heavens, the dying leaving a streak of light as their soul left their body. Only those who were doing to die themselves saw this light, and the Goddess would then grant them the powers of the deceased.
This information disturbed Noctis greatly, and although was the only explanation why Noctis saw that strange light when people died, he passed it off to Stella as just being a child's bedtime story. However, news carried over to him that his kingdom was under attack, and after Stella departed from him he departed to find his family and friends.
Most of them were already at defensive positions throughout the walls and within the castle keep itself, and Noctis was ordered as both the guardian of the crystal and the last in his bloodline of kings, to go stand as sentinel in the throne room leading to the crystal itself. Not liking the idea those closest to him would be on the front lines risking their life for his own, but not having a choice, he departed for the chamber and sat down upon his father's throne to wait. Hours passed, and deep within the stone walls of the cold castle, Noctis grew bored with not hearing any sounds of battle from outside. Until he heard the distant sound of approaching yells and footsteps, did he pay attention and get up off his throne, appearing on the stone steps before the throne room at the same time a band of armor-plated marauders wielding firearms did. Dead soldiers littered the stairs around him, and he knew he had little choice with what he had to do, being the last line of defense for the crystal. The barbarians opened fire on him, and Noctis immediately summoned his weapons to defend himself, using his powerful telekinesis in his unmerciful flaying that he unleashed upon the soldiers.
Having disposed of most of their numbers and having blocked a shot of a rocket launcher aimed for his back as if it were nothing, Noctis went to check the crystal, in case any other soldiers had sneaked around and passed him. More soldiers were advancing up the side of the castle towards the crystal, and Noctis jumped over the side of the wall and fearlessly went into a gravity-defying battle against the second wave, using his telekinesis to dig weapons into the side of the wall to launch himself from and teleport between. The battle was violent and dangerous, but Noctis had been trained for this kind of situation, and effortlessly disposed of the troopers. Having taken care of those numbers of men, he landed at the bottom of the wall safely and ran off around the castle to check the perimeter, on a shortcut back to the crystal chamber.
On the street under the light of the full moon, he ran into Stella Nox Fluret again, her back turned to him and head tilted down while looking to the left-hand side, as if she had been waiting for him there. She stepped forward with a regretful look, an energy began to grow from her, summoning her rapier as a glowing sigil appeared behind her. Noctis also materialized his Falchion in self-defense, a similar neon glyph appearing in different colors behind him as well, as if the two of them had a connection of some sort. Battle ensued, and the two of them were equally matched, until both of them had to depart from exhaustion. Thinking of the crystal and his loved ones, Noctis withdrew back into the castle.
On his way to the crystal's chamber, he came across a man in a white robe, his hood up obscuring his face from view as he approached him from behind. He appeared to be casting some spell or enchantment on a pillar, the white energy waves washing over it, forcing Noctis to reveal his presence to put a stop to it. The man turned around and pulled down his hood, revealing his long brunette hair but not his name, and with little warning cast white magic seals around Noctis. Adrenaline still pumping in his veins and acting in reflex, Noctis summoned his weapons around the enigmatic man, forcing them to come to a drawn stand-off. Then just as the mysterious stranger came, he ended the battle and left, leaving Noctis feeling confused about the recent events.
The invasion apparently over when he was reunited with his family and friends, once things had settled down, his family and associates held another serious meeting. Noctis was to be assigned indefinitely to guard the crystal within the chambers of their stronghold, should the attack happen again, until the peace treaty was signed. At this time stars had fallen from the night sky, and more and more of the population seemed to be disappearing mysteriously within the moving shadows of the city's streets, a matter in which would also be investigated along with the recent incursion of the unknown force behind the invasion. Not content with being imprisoned and moved by the words and actions of the siege, Noctis left the meeting and soon after the castle as well against orders, with his four friends to investigate a matter down one of the city's many highways. That was the last he saw of his four comrades, as they were split up when the mission didn't turn out as expected and Noctis escaped using a prototype gummi ship that had been found at the location, having no time to find out what had happened to them.
He now sails the sea of stars... seeking answers behind the questions he has been afraid to answer for far too long.
