Special Abilities
Alexander is the second person to be infected with the experimental T-virus variation, developed by William Birkin, which granted Albert Wesker his superhuman abilities. More specifically, Alexander is infected with a derivative virus which Wesker developed to improve upon the one given to him by Birkin. Alexander possesses all of Wesker‘s abilities, though weakened compared to the latter, as well as a greatly strengthened bone structure and the ability to spontaneously grow bone protrusions from his body in any simple form he chooses; these normally take the shape of claws and blades with which to attack his foes.
As well as this, his viral injection rectifies the flaws from which Wesker suffers. Unlike Wesker, Alexander does not need to take regular injections to keep the virus in check because it immediately bonded with and attuned to his body. Also, the mental instability caused by the original virus has been eliminated in the derivative. On top of this come enhanced regenerative qualities, providing Alex with the ability to sustain huge amounts of damage and rendering him effectively immortal.
Even without the virus, Alexander is a highly dangerous opponent. He is at the peak of his physical fitness and is highly intelligent, with a great tactical mind. He is trained in numerous martial arts and fighting styles, including MCMAP, Jeet Kune Do and Tai Chi Chuan, and is extremely proficient with all manner of weapons and firearms.
At the viral mutation’s current level, his physical capabilities match those demonstrated by Wesker during the events of Resident Evil Code: Veronica.

Weaknesses
As resilient as he is, Alexander is far from invincible. Sustaining too much injury without sufficient time to heal will take its toll on his body and eventually kill him.
Brief History[/size]
Alexander Crane cares little for his life outside Umbrella. Born in London, England, he was quite the gifted child, excelling both physically and intellectually. Throughout his studies at college and University, he played football and airsoft to a high degree of skill. Coming away with a Degree in Biochemistry shortly before the family moved to the United States, Alexander took his next step towards independence by enlisting in the US Marine Corps. He took to the training quickly and excelled in all areas; he served two tours of duty with the Corps before being approached by Umbrella, who saw his combat prowess as highly useful. He accepted the offer they put forward, joining the Umbrella Biohazard Countermeasure Service.
Right from his first assignment, the powers that be within Umbrella knew they’d made a very wise decision. Alexander was a machine; a consummate soldier and deadly pragmatist who carried out his orders without question and with brutal efficiency. Aptly callsigned Azrael, after the angel of death, he rapidly rose to become the second-in-command of his team and gave his employers several years of illustrious service.
After the Raccoon City incident, in which Umbrella was implicated and as a result of which the corporation collapsed, Azrael quickly found himself out of work. He re-enlisted with the Marines for a time, but found the tasks put to him rather uninteresting compared to the things he’d seen and done in the UBCS. Honourably discharged for an excellently-handled hostage rescue and a spectacular set of Claymore kills, he dropped off the military radar. Training vigorously and exercising regularly to maintain his physical perfection and deadly combat skills, he kept his ear to the ground about the state of Umbrella.
If anything of note was to happen regarding the corporation, however, Alexander would not be around to see it. He was caught in a horrific car accident one day; run over by a bus on his way to the gym. The blunt force trauma inflicted upon his head sent him into a deep coma, from which he would not awake for weeks… When he did finally regain consciousness, he did not wake up in the world he had left. He heard whispers of a phenomenon known as the Grey Divide, which had brought several vastly different parallel universes together. Once he recovered and was discharged from hospital, Alexander regained his bearings and set about looking for more work.
It soon found him - in the form of Albert Wesker, a former Umbrella researcher who had become infected with a T-Virus variant developed by a colleague of his and had effectively turned into the most dangerous of the Tyrants. Wesker was searching for a volunteer to assist him with his latest research project; a personal, improved variation of the virus from which he gained his superhuman abilities. Taken in by Wesker‘s highly persuasive argument, Alexander took him up on his offer and allowed himself to be injected with the improved virus.
After an hour or so, the effects slowly manifested. Alex underwent thorough testing in Wesker‘s laboratory; the numerous devices that monitored his vitals and capabilities showed far more promising results than Albert could ever have expected. Alexander demonstrated all of Wesker‘s abilities, albeit at a weakened level, and none of the adverse side-effects from which Wesker suffered. Albert was immensely pleased with the results; designating his first test subject WT-001, he outfitted Alexander with an intimidating, state-of-the-art suit of battle armour that further enhanced his physical abilities.
Now, with the initial tests completed, Wesker’s latest B.O.W. is ready to begin field testing to discover the current limits of his abilities and gauge his combat efficiency.

”Orders, sir?”
“Simple. Track down and eliminate the target. Good hunting.”
This simple exchange echoed again and again in the sharp, focused mind of Alexander Crane. Once a soldier, now a biological weapon; thanks to the sinister genius of Albert Wesker, he was no longer human. His already formidable combat prowess had been raised to levels beyond his imagination, even compared to Umbrella‘s vicious B.O.W.s, the Tyrants. Wesker was perhaps the most dangerous of these nigh-indomitable weapons, and he would only become more deadly once he perfected the virus with which Alexander was so magnificently augmented and injected himself with it.
But for the moment, there was little time even for such marvellous contemplation of things to come. Azrael had been given a mission, and he would see it completed with his usual flawless form and brutal efficiency. He knew full well what had been said about him during his career with the UBCS, and knew that Wesker knew it; the angel of death had quite a reputation to uphold, but had faith in his newfound power. Hopefully Wesker had similar confidence.
The elevator slowed as it reached the top of the shaft. From the darkness emerged a malevolent black shape, elliptical eye visors glowing a menacing orange, as the hidden door moved aside to allow the lift‘s passenger to leave. Flexing his hands and popping his neck, Azrael stepped out into the room that concealed Wesker‘s lab and made his way out of the building to begin his search for the interloper his commander wanted dead.
